Thanks to a group of smart people, you are now able sync your projects and credits across the industry's leading databases and see them all perfectly organized on your swanky new Creator's Page.
It's like the last résumé you'll ever need... because it builds itself, it looks good, it's organized, and it matches you to jobs! Now if only it could wash the dishes.

Creator of The Month
Community is important. There are so many creators around the world that are listening to God's calling and following His plans. We believe as follow creators it's important to come alongside them as brethren. To offer encouragement and support in their journey.
This is why every month we pick an awesome creator (that you might not know) and feature them and their works all across Storytellers. That way, month after month, we can meet and uplift others in God's calling for them.
If you would like to suggest a Creator for the "Creator of The Month", please email: creator-of-the-month@sctreehouse.com

Groups
As creators we know that working together is how and why we are able to build worlds and capture imaginations. Without the help of each other, we can never reach the unreachable or achieve the unachievable. Working alongside one another, meeting others, and sharing ideas is what keeps those creative minds running at fullsteam.
That's why we have made Groups. These are communities of people interested and active in different creative parts of the industry. We also build custom groups for projects you are working on to give you a powerful way to collaborate with your team.

Network.
Why was it any other way?
Places like Facebook, Twitter, and even Google + have some really cool collaborative features that make working together so much easer. The problem, there is so much happening on those sites that they become distracting. It's like having an office in your bedroom. How are you to work when your bed is right there...and how are you to sleep when you desk is 5 feet away? The answer, clean out that junk room and move your office!
That's what we have done with "The Network". We cleaned out everything else and built a social network just for creating!

TOGETHER
WE ARE THE CREATORS
CreatorsPowerful social networking designed for Creatives
Personal, the Network is what we all like to think makes "Creators" so cool.
So, the network is like a custom private Facebook just for creators. Collaborate with your team and fellow creators with powerful tools built from the ground up to solve many of the collaborating issues facing all kinds storytellers today. |
"Creators" is an IMDb style database with a fun social media twist. Although the database side of "Creators" is opened to the public (so anyone can see a creator's work), "Creators" is the part of the "Storytellers" system that was designed for the industry professionals (a.k.a the people who create stuff) as a way to network and share, it's not really for the fans.
"Creators" is made up of two main parts: The Database and The Network (because those are two cool sounding names)

"Creators" is made up of two main parts: The Database and The Network (because those are two cool sounding names).
The Database:
The best way to describe the Database is to say that it is primarily IMDb... if IMDb had woke up one morning as a buff bodybuilder (probably with a Russian accent...becuase that's cool) and started giving out free hugs.
The Database is where your "Creator's Pages" will live. Which is much like an IMDb profile except instead of just being a list of projects you have worked on, "Creator's Pages" are meant to function primarily as an online portfolio/résumé that can be used to get you jobs and funds from investors. So, they are way more customizable, allowing you to do things like: add unlimited photos, videos, and audio files, as well as giving you the ability to write descriptive paragraphs about what you did on every "credit" you have listed on your profile. "Creator's Pages" can also be set up to sync with CFDb, Backstage, Cast It, The CWVFF Directory, and even IMDb itself (as well as a few more we still working on) so that everything you put on your "Creator's Page" is also listed in those places as well.
We are also working on some crazy cool search tools so that people looking for crew members, talent, artist, or any other kind of storytellers can easily search the Database to find those people.
And that is the Database part of "Creators." Oh, yeah... and we hope the whole Russian bodybuilder thing wasn't too confusing.
The Network:
Personal, the Network is what we all like to think makes "Creators" so cool.
So, the network is like a custom privet Facebook just for creators. However, there is one underlining difference between Facebook and The Network, where Facebook is more profile centered, the Network is more focused on Groups.
So, instead of posting things on your profile page as you do on Facebook, in the Network you do not post on your profile, but instead, you post in groups that are organized by topics (i.e., Composers, Writers, Cartoonists, etc.) This focus on groups vs. profiles was chosen because the purpose of the Network is to give creators their own place to meet each other, communicate, and share ideas with like-minded people. Putting people together with groups, vs isolating them to profiles seemed to make more sense in shooting for this goal. You will still have a profile though that syncs with your "Creator's Page."
Now, unlike the Database, the Network is not opened to the public. You must have a user login to access it. This is done to keep the Network exclusive to creators so that they have a place to network with themselves. "Fans" (which you can read about a little farther down in the accordion) is the part of the "Storytellers" system made for creators to interact with the public. "Creators" (which is made up of the Database and the Network) was made for creators to share and work with each other and not have to worry about the fans and public interfering.
So, in a nutshell, the Network is a place for creative people to meet and work together on creating some awesome stuff.

Things You Need To DoNow. One of the biggest things we want to do in preparation for "The Event" on March 18th is to get all of you a "Creator's Page" on the Storytellers system's new website ("Creator's Pages" are like an IMDb pro pages for creator members of "Storytellers"). Actually, we are currently working with IMDb right now to get a cool deal setup where all the creator's who have a "Creator's Page" on "Storytellers" will also have the option to have all their credits added/synced to an IMDb pro page (for free). So, anyway, we want to get all the creators who will be pitching at "The Event" in March setup with one these "Creator's Pages", so you can have all your work public and easily visible to the investors on March 18.
We will be working with you all to get those setup.
But, here is what you need to do to make sure you're ready when we give the investors access "Creators" on March 18th for the Pitch.
What Do You Need To Do?
To get yourself listed on "Creators" with a "Creator's Page" for March 18th, we will need you all to work on getting us your information (credits, past experiences, investor contact info, etc.) to put on your "Creator's Page."
Things To Do:
When working on your "Creator's Pages", you will have to use the "register" button to create an account to access the "Creator's Pages" editor for now. This is just temporary until the "Storytellers" system website is made public on March 18.
Use the Q&A section to contact us if any of you need any help with this.
