StoryI'm a filmmaker, vlogger, photographer, and musician from central Colorado! I'm also the founder and director of Luchnia Productions (pronounced "luke-NEE-uh"), a media company dedicated to creating entertaining, thoughtful content that honors God and makes people think.
I've dabbled in many things including writing, post production, visual effects, and numerous others, but my passions lie in directing and cinematography. I've worked on several short films of my own for Luchnia Productions' YouTube channel and in 2016 I went to the Rocky Mountain Christian Filmmakers Camp and got experience working in several positions on another short film, but it wasn't until I was offered the position of director on Literal: What We Believe that I really began long term work with a substantial crew. When I'm not doing filmmaking or creating YouTube videos, other things I enjoy are being with friends, doing photography, playing piano and ukulele, and repairing / restoring antique reed organs. |

Skills
I'm both a photographer and an intermediate level cinematographer. I'm at an intermediate level when it comes to post production in Adobe Premiere Pro and I'm currently learning to do visual effects in Adobe After Effects and audio production in Audition. My strengths include leadership, logic, and problem solving. I'm gifted at various musical instruments (piano, ukulele, etc) and I'm also good at remembering obscure facts.
Journey
The Creative Journey
I've been fascinated with cameras for as long as I can remember. I didn't get my own until pretty late, but I would always jump on the opportunity to use my mom's to practice photography or to borrow my dad's camcorder to video family events and trips.
One of my favorite toys growing up was stuffed animals. When we were younger, my sister and I had an entire world and economy based around them and they all had distinct personalities. We had a government, a police force and a spy agency, various businesses and industries, currency, and a lot more. When I really started getting into cameras, it was only natural to film what we were already doing. Eventually, I got my first computer and that lead to my starting to create radio shows with them as well. As time went on, I upgraded computers and the world of video editing was opened to me. I began to create higher quality, more produced videos and audio projects and soon Animal Media Productions came to be. I still had extremely limited access to resources so it was only natural to use animals to act in projects since my sister and I could use as many as we wanted without needing a large crew to get things done. As time went on, Animal Media Productions changed its focus, but to this day, it still exists bringing entertaining, comedic, and thoughtful videos to kids of all ages.
As time progressed, I became more mature, grew in my skills, got better and better equipment, and the idea of creating live action films and shorts was opened to me. Luchnia Productions was birthed in 2014 as a way to create projects for myself and clients. Since then, I've been in production on and off for several short films I was going to put on YouTube, but I never got the manpower to really pull them off the way I envisioned. In 2016, I attended the Rocky Mountain Christian Filmmakers Camp in Norwood, Colorado and that awakened an even greater desire in me to work on film projects. Then in 2017, I attended the Lamplighter Guild in Mount Morris, New York where I studied storytelling for a week. Since then, I've written several more short films and worked on a few projects for various clients.
I had been following S.C. Treehouse Productions since at least 2014, possibly earlier, and they had been following my work for about the same amount of time. In late 2014, S.C. Treehouse released the first half season of a web series called Literal: What We Believe on YouTube. Although I didn't understand a lot of what was going on (it was really deep and mysterious), I was a huge fan of the show - in fact, I enjoyed the project so much that I was known as Literal's biggest fan for years. Then, in late 2016 or early 2017, Christopher approached me with the opportunity to direct the show as they were bringing it back, this time for TV! After praying hard about it for some time, I believed it was what I God wanted me to do and I accepted. This project has given me the opportunity to work with people from all over the world that I wouldn't have otherwise even met. I have been working on the project ever since.

The Faith Journey
I started out as an average Baptist Christian who was the son of a pastor. My mom led me to Christ around the age of 5 or 6 if I'm remembering right. In 2006, my mom started researching the scriptures and became convinced that the Torah is still for today. She showed me her findings and I came to agree. Since then, I've grown stronger in my beliefs and more dependent on prayer. Currently I am learning to trust God and cast my cares on Him instead of carrying them myself. I'm also learning to follow his guidance and direction in my life instead of just making decisions on my own.
As for beliefs, I believe the Torah is still for today. I believe in free will but also that the Spirit must draw a person to the Father before they can come to Him. We then have the decision to reject or accept the Spirit's leading. I also believe that all of the Spiritual Gifts from the New Testament are for today.
